The Lucky Cowboy Hat Experience

Hi, I’m Ally, your hat maker and the founder of Lucky Cowboy.

My goal during your appointment is to create a space where we can slow down, explore ideas, and design something that feels deeply personal and entirely one of a kind.

Appointments are scheduled for about ninety minutes, giving us plenty of time to move through the process thoughtfully and without rushing.

We’ll begin by talking about you, where you imagine wearing your hat, what inspired you to create one, and how you want it to make you feel when you put it on.

From there, I’ll take a few measurements to ensure the perfect fit. Then we’ll start exploring materials together, looking through the different felt options and colorways available.

Next, we’ll explore crown styles and brim shapes until we find the silhouette that feels like you.

Then we begin building out the details. This is where the personality really comes through. We’ll select banding, talk about embroidery, hat jewelry, custom laser details, and all the small touches that transform a hat into something truly special.

I always encourage guests to bring meaningful items with them; charms, handwritten notes, small keepsakes, photographs, or pieces that carry a story. When possible, I love incorporating these into the design so your hat becomes a true reflection of your journey.

Our space is intentionally intimate, so you’re welcome to bring one guest to share the experience with you.

Because everything is crafted by hand and customized for you, production timelines can vary depending on availability and design details. Most hats are completed within two to eight weeks.

Once your hat is ready, you’re welcome to return to the studio to pick it up, or we can arrange local delivery or shipping if you’re traveling from afar.

Lucky Cowboy is located inside Bluebird Mercantile, a small creative space just steps from the beach in Laguna Beach. Guest parking is available just behind the building.
