At Lucky Cowboy, every hat begins with your story. Our process is intentionally slow & bespoke, allowing space for creativity, reflection, and thoughtful design.

Each piece is crafted to feel personal, meaningful, and entirely one of a kind. Appointments are scheduled for two hours. During this time, we’ll explore shapes, colors, and styles while discussing the details that will make your hat uniquely yours. Together, we’ll select your size and preferred color, then refine the crown and brim shape to bring your vision to life. From there, the customization begins. You’ll choose from curated bands, wraps, and accessories, and we’ll explore any meaningful items you’d like to incorporate—whether it’s a vintage charm, a ribbon, a handwritten note, or a piece of jewelry reimagined into a custom band. We encourage guests to bring personal treasures, turning each hat into a true reflection of their journey.

For those looking to add something even more distinctive, we collaborate with a local artist who has created one-of-a-kind designs exclusively for Lucky Cowboy. These images can be hand-burned onto your hat, adding a layer of artistry and individuality that makes each piece truly unforgettable.

While your hat is being crafted, you’re free to enjoy Laguna Beach—grab a coffee or lunch nearby, take a stroll through the neighborhood, or dip into the ocean. Many hats are completed the same day and ready for pickup within a few hours. For more intricate pieces, we may ask you to return within a few days. Hats not currently in stock can still be designed during your appointment, then ordered and ready for pickup within 3–6 weeks. Finished hats can be collected from our Laguna Beach studio, or we’re happy to arrange local and long-distance delivery.
