MEET THE MAKER

Lucky Cowboy was born from a lifelong love of creating and from the quiet, persistent call of the open road. Just a girl from a small town in North Carolina with dreams bigger than the sky, I followed that call, guided by the belief that something more was waiting out there. More beauty. More freedom. More magic.

I grew up in a home where creativity was encouraged at every turn. My dad, an artist, filled our lives with curiosity and color, letting me explore every medium that caught my eye; ceramics, painting, jewelry, photography, and more. Making became my language, my way of understanding the world. When I was eleven, my mom gifted me my first sewing machine, and my grandmother, her mother, a lifelong maker herself, taught me how to read patterns and sew. From that moment on, I was captivated by the quiet magic of bringing something to life with my hands.

My path has never been linear. I moved to New York City chasing creativity, met my husband there, and together we headed west to Colorado, where my love for wide-open spaces and soulful landscapes truly took root. Eventually, the road led us, and our dog Waffles, to the coast, to Laguna Beach, California, where Lucky Cowboy found its home.

Over the years, my creative path has taken many forms, shaped by curiosity, mentors, and a deep love of making. Each chapter taught me something new about form, texture, and storytelling. Eventually, all those threads came together in Lucky Cowboy, a brand that feels like both a return and a beginning. I opened the Laguna Beach studio in early 2025 in Bluebird Mercantile, a space where craftsmanship, story, and spirit live under one roof.

Lucky Cowboy is a reflection of my journey, the transformation, the trust, the beauty in the in-between. Every hat I create is more than an accessory; it’s a canvas for self-expression, a reflection of individuality, and a story waiting to be told. Each piece carries the spirit of adventure and the belief that a little luck can always be found along the way.

At its heart, Lucky Cowboy is about the soul of a cowboy, the wild spirit who doesn’t shy away from the fire. The fearless dreamer who follows the unbeaten path, embraces the unknown, and keeps moving forward with courage. It’s about chasing your dreams, reinventing yourself, and creating something meaningful, no matter how long the journey takes. And along the way, there are always sparks of luck—those quiet glimmers that remind you you’re exactly where you’re meant to be.
