Finding the Feeling — Joshua Tree

There’s a certain kind of feeling you can’t quite put into words. Just a quiet pull toward something more. It’s the kind that lingers in the back of your mind, asking where the road might lead if you’re brave enough to follow it.

That’s what brought us to Joshua Tree. Where mountain air softens into desert wind, and the glow of the Pacific waits somewhere beyond the dusk.

We headed to the desert with the intention of capturing the essence of Lucky Cowboy, not through perfectly composed images, but through something more honest. Something lived-in. We wanted to create a body of work that felt like movement, like memory. Something that reflected the spirit of the brand in its most natural form.

We found ourselves at Kaleidoscope Desert, an animal sanctuary tucked into the landscape that feels entirely its own. It’s a place where rescued animals, art, and the wild desert come together in a way that feels both grounding and surreal. Mini horses wander slowly through the dust, emus pass curiously by, and goats, ducks, and chickens move freely throughout the property. Around every corner, there’s something unexpected. Sculptures, installations, quiet expressions of creativity that feel like they’ve been left there for you to discover.

It’s the kind of place that invites you to slow down. To pay attention. To feel where you are. And for a few days, it became the backdrop for everything we were trying to capture.

The rhythm of the shoot unfolded naturally. Mornings began slowly, with soft light stretching across the desert. Afternoons were spent wandering, letting the day take shape without forcing it. There was no rigid structure, no need to control every moment. Just a shared understanding that the best parts would happen on their own.

We wanted it to feel like something real. Like a memory you find yourself inside of before you even realize it matters.

Soft desert winds, dust under our boots, and laughter that carried late into the night. Friends moving through the landscape together, following instinct rather than direction. It was less about capturing something and more about allowing it to unfold.

Because that’s where the magic lives. Not in perfection, but in the in-between. In the unplanned turns. In the moments you didn’t see coming but wouldn’t trade for anything.

Out there, surrounded by open space and endless sky, we were able to truly capture the spirit of Lucky Cowboy. Something you can feel. Something alive in the moment.

It lives in the freedom to move without needing all the answers. In the quiet courage it takes to trust yourself and keep going. In the willingness to follow the pull, even when the path ahead isn’t fully visible.

The hats became part of that experience. Not just something worn, but something that moves with you. Shaped by the environment, the light, and the moments we were living in. They carry a sense of place, a trace of time, and a feeling that extends beyond the frame.

This campaign wasn’t about showcasing a product. It was about capturing a way of being.

An open road. Horizons full of possibility. Finding your magic along the way. For the turns you planned, and the ones you didn’t.

Make it yours. Make it Lucky Cowboy.
