Nomad Straw Hat

$250.00

The Nomad

Handwoven in Ecuador from genuine toquilla straw, The Nomad carries a weaving tradition passed down through generations. Though known throughout the world as a Panama hat, each piece begins its journey in Ecuador, where artisans transform the fibers of the toquilla palm into remarkably lightweight and durable straw.

Featuring a bold silhouette with a dramatic 4.5” front crown dip, a 5.5” crown height, and a 3.25” brim, The Nomad is designed to accompany you from desert roads to coastal afternoons and everywhere in between.

Available in two signature hues:

Salt
A sun-bleached ivory inspired by driftwood, sea spray, and long days along the Pacific.

Sol
A warm honey-caramel tone reminiscent of golden hour, desert canyons, and the last light before sunset.

Each hat is handwoven by skilled Ecuadorian artisans using techniques that have been preserved for centuries and recognized by UNESCO as part of the world’s Intangible Cultural Heritage. Lightweight, breathable, and naturally beautiful, The Nomad also offers UPF 50+ sun protection for the road ahead.

Finished by hand in our Laguna Beach studio.

Finding Your Fit

The Nomad is offered in three sizes and features an internal adjustable fit system, allowing for a more customized fit when needed.

Small — 53–55 cm
Medium — 56–58 cm
Large — 59–60 cm

To determine your size, measure around your head where your hat naturally rests—just above the ears and across the forehead. If you’re between sizes, we generally recommend sizing up. The interior adjustment system allows the hat to be comfortably reduced for a more secure fit.

Care

To preserve the beauty and shape of your hat, avoid prolonged exposure to moisture and store it in a cool, dry place when not in use. If needed, gently clean with a soft brush or damp cloth. Natural variations in color and weave are part of the character of each handwoven piece.

Handwoven in Ecuador. Finished slowly in Laguna Beach. Made for the road ahead.

Hand-dyed silk scarves are available as an optional add-on. Measuring 21” x 21”, each scarf is dyed by hand and wind-dried in Northern California, resulting in subtle variations that make every piece unique.

Available in four signature colors:
• Desert Bloom
• Sagebrush
• Indigo Tide
• Bougainvillea

Scarves are sold separately and are not included with the hat.
